The Guro people of western Ivory Coast produce the most colorful masks in Africa. This twins mask is of handpainted wood and is used in celebrations to honor the arrival of twins. The distinct colors signify the differences recognized in the individuals of the twin pair. Set on top is a carved pregnant woman representing fertility, and the horn represents spirits that protect human life.

This mask is 18 inches long and 6.5 inches wide.
