Ancient Roman Coins

$148.00

Roman coins came into use around 300 BC. Before this, Romans used bronze weights as money. The first coins minted in Rome resembled those made in Greece, who had been producing coins for several hundred years. Once the Romans got started and were able to acquire precious metals, they produced coins from gold, silver, and bronze that remained in use for another 500 years. These coins spread all through Europe and have been found from Britain to the Middle East.

These bronze coins are set in a tooled sterling silver bezel, and dangle from sturdy sterling ear wires. Please see below for a size reference.
