Christ of the Caribbean

$190.00

For those lucky souls that remember a St John of pre-hurricane Marilyn, when this mystical stylized Christ stood on Peace Hill, and bestowed peace, love and grace over the land and sea. The man responsible for this meaningful statue was Colonel Julius Wadsworth. In 1953, he erected the Christ in the hope and dream of promoting world peace. Sadly, the statue was toppled in Hurricane Marilyn but the area is still designated as 'Peace Hill' and the spirit of sanctuary still remains.

Whether you remember the statue or not, this pendant is a heartfelt reminder of the sentiment and memory of our Christ of the Caribbean. This petite rendition is handmade of 14 karat gold by Tom Krall on the island of St John. Please see below for a size reference.
