Very stylish stainless steel compass rose necklace. This necklace has a nice weight and feel to it. It has a pleasing contrasting dark and light motif. The stainless chain is a smooth weave that measures 24 inches.
The compass rose has appeared on charts and maps since the 1300's. It displays the orientation of the cardinal directions north, south, east and west and their intermediate points. Interestingly, the original use of a compass rose was to indicate the directions of the wind, not the direction of the body or vessel.
