Lapis Faceted Posts

We don't often find 'faceted' Lapis stones. These stones are the deepest, richest blue Lapis one can find. Lapis is a metamorphic rock that has been prized since ancient times because of its intense color. It is composed primarily of the minerals lazurite, pyrite and calcite. Set in sterling silver prongs with sterling posts.

The lure of lapis is considered an ancient healing stone that has been mined in northern Afghanistan for 6,000 years. These are the most significant sources of lapis. It is also found in the Andes, near Chile and in Siberia, Russia. Please see below for a size reference.
