This exciting cabochon is known as Ocean Jasper. It is a relatively new gemstone discovered in 1999. It comes from a single region in Madagascar, and only when the tide is low! Yes, it literally comes from the ocean. Ocean Jasper is loved for its ripples and bubbles and wavy lines that resemble the bottom of the ocean when looking down from a small boat. And the colors are so striking - the deepest green, shades of cream and brown, red, yellow and pink. Every stone is unusual and every one is unique.
