Roman Coin Ring

This Roman coin was made for Constantius Gallus who was a statesman and ruler in the eastern provinces of the Roman Empire from 351 to 354 A.D. Under Constantius II, Gallus served as deputy emperor based in Antioch, a city at the site of modern day Antakya, Turkey. He dealt with a Jewish revolt in 351-352. He fell out of favor with Constantius and was executed and replaced by his younger half-brother Julian.

This coin is a bronze centenionalis which is a Roman coin introduced by emperors Constans and Constantius II between A.D. 320 and 340 to reintroduce a larger high-value bronze denomination. It is set in a sterling silver double bezel. It is 7/8 inches across including the bezel. This one and only ring fits size 9. It comes with a descriptive card and an authenticity guarantee.
