Honduran Opal

This exciting sparkling stone is known as Honduras Black Opal. It is a natural stone mined in Honduras with a black matrix base that are found within black basalt. The black matrix base is studded with small specks of brightly colored opals.They are formed by volcanic eruptions that occur in South America. The Black Matrix Opal has been declared the National Gemstone of Honduras.

This predominately green wash of opals is set in sterling silver prongs with a lovely ornate back and bail. The bail is set with an Ethiopian Opal. Please see below for a size reference.
