Bronze Cast Phurba Ceremonial Dagger from China

Wonderfully detailed solid bronze phurba used to strike the air to destroy demonic powers, to drive away evil spirits or negativity. This ritual phurba, or Kila in sanskrit, is linked to the diety Vajrakilaya who is determined to eliminate violence, hatred and aggression. There is a yearly ceremony in which Vajrakilaya appears in wrathful form as the manifestation of all Buddhas' activities to subdue obstacles. In this ceremony it is believed that all the obstacles for the entire year will be cleared away.
