Larimar Necklace

Larimar cabochons necklace handmade in Dominican Republic. Featuring our gemstone of the Caribbean, which is only found in the D.R., that are handset in smooth sterling silver bezels and linked with handmade sterling links. Overall length of necklace is 20 inches with an added 2 inch drop. A beautiful statement accessory that will graciously adorn many outfits.

Larimar was discovered in a small fishing village where small fragments washed up on a local beach. As people became aware of this attractive stone, villagers set out to find its origin up the river where the fragments were found. They eventually found small outcroppings of blue stone which does indeed mark the only known deposit of larimar in the world. It was most likely formed by a unique volcanic event.
