Northern India Carved Wood Tika Box


Handcarved wooden Tika Box from Himalchal Pradesh in northern India. It is for holding a red pigment commonly used to place a dot on one's forehead before entering sacred temples. This box is of smooth worn wood measuring 5 inches long, 2.5 inches wide and 2 inches deep. It swivels open on an iron nail.
