Tuareg Ebony Pendant

Traditional handmade Tuareg pendant made of smooth ebony wood in a frame of silver. Tuareg designs are passed on through generations. One is born an artisan, born into a closed hereditary vocation. Artisans are said to be able to build almost everything necessary for daily life and survival in the desert - from tents, to bags, to swords, to tools - and to have an extraordinary array of trades and skills. As nomads in the North African Sahara, artisans are important to survival.
