Wonderful World of Kofi Awudu Lost Wax Bronze


This tres chic mademoiselle was created by Burkina Faso artist Kofi Awudu. Kofi produces his art at the National Center of Craft Industry and Art in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. His dream is for the people of his country to learn to read, then teach each other to read, so together they can enrich their lives.

This splendid statuesque woman is created by the lost wax bronze casting method. Each casting produces just one statue. Scrap metal is collected, then melted down to be poured into a beeswax mold that is covered with clay. He actually has to break the mold to get the figurine out. Then each piece is polished and hand painted.

This genteel woman stands 8 inches tall. She stands on a round base that has a 2.5 inch diameter. Note: due to the size of this item, actual shipping charges will be less than indicated on you order.
